Grandma & Grandpa Claiborne Visit

At the end of July Grandma and Grandpa came to visit us all the way over here in California. Olivia couldn't get enough of all the attention. All the girls went to the zoo one day and Olivia showed Grandma her favorite part, the petting area.
Grandma, Grandpa, Olivia and Mommy went on a beautiful train ride through the Santa Cruz redwoods. Olivia loves trains and the scenery was amazing. We even got to see Thomas the Train.

Grandma taught me that painting your little girls toes is part of being a good mom. Since I didn't own any nail polish Grandma used hers. Olivia was amazed. I have since bought some nail polish just for here and Olivia ask multiple times a week for me to paint her toes.
We all went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which Dallin's company built. Olivia loved looking at all the fishes and the birds.

This was her reaction if a bird would get too close though.
After that we all headed to "lovers point" in Monterey (Daddy served his mission in this area and knew all the fun things to do). We grilled some yummy steaks and corn and feasted!

It was so fun to have them come visit us, and we can't wait until they come back for the new baby in a few weeks. Get here soon, we miss you!!

July 4th in Utah

Over the 4th of July we headed to Utah to have a little mini family reunion with all the Sausers. We spent a lot of time just hanging out and letting the cousins play while the adults chatted. It was so nice and relaxing. Now that the cousins are all getting older they are able to really learn who everyone is and put names to faces.

The morning of the 4th we reserved the club house to do some swimming on a hot day, have some lunch, and have a small celebration for Olivia's Birthday.

My nephew Max, decided to hang out with me and my camera, asking for lots of pictures. He kept telling me that I was his friend. I enjoyed our time!!

Andrew didn't quite know how he felt about the water, eventually he warmed up to the idea, and joined little sister Miriam in the fun.

That night Olivia fell asleep on the way to the fireworks and did not wake up a happy camper. Eventually, her cousin Max was able to convince her to sit with him and they had a blast naming all the colors of fireworks that they saw in the sky.

We rode the trax (Olivia LOVES trains) in to City Creek Center in SLC and let the kids run around on the splash pad they have there. Olivia was in heaven and was not happy to leave.

Max was a little more cautious, but did enjoy the waterfall/fountain.

My adorable nephew Eli (Baby Oo-ie, according to Olivia). I am sure that I hogged him the whole time, but I couldn't get enough of him!

Grandpa Sauser got us a carriage ride to take us around the city. It was so pretty and I was able to get some great pictures of the SLC Temple. Thanks Grandpa!

Max and Olivia were best friends while we were there. We are really lucky that all the cousins are really close in age and they all were good friends by the time we left.

Olivia got some practice time in, before we left, holding a little baby.

Here we are all together (minus Grandpa, the photographer), we sure are starting to grow!

Thanks to all the Sausers and Durfey's for opening your homes to us and allowing us to have such a fun, relaxing vacation. Same time next year please!!!

Olivia turns 2

I can't believe my little girl is already 2 and about to be a big sister! We celebrated her birthday at home, on June 30th, with just us three (since we were leaving to go out of town soon after that).

Olivia loved her "day". She was more excited about the balloons than she was to open gifts, until she realized that ripping open the paper gave her new toys.

She got a train set, some matchbox cars, some books, a new purse (which now goes everywhere with her), an art easel, a broom and dust pan (she loves to sweep).

Grandpa and Grammy Texas sent a new Cowboys jersey and some cute hair bows.

Grandpa and Grandma Claiborne got Olivia her first bike as well as some fun new books.

Grandpa and Grandma Sauser sent some cute pillow pets that are now a constant companion to her when she is in bed.

Happy Birthday Beautiful girl! It has been so fun to watch you grow up and turn into such a smart, fun toddler! We Love you!
