Time out, Naps, Potty Training and Halloween

Here is a quick run down of our month so far!

Olivia has had a few moments in time out. This day she got quiet after a few minutes and I found her sound asleep.

Can you find the children?

Olivia has been a champ a potty training.

Olivia experience her first pumpkin carving. She loved it and even got her hands dirty!

At one point in the night I looked over to find Olivia sitting with the pumpkin top on her head.

This was Cathrynn's contribution to the night.

We recently had our ward trunk or treat. Olivia had a great time running around with her best friend Lyla.

Yes, she is wearing the same costume as last year. However, she only wore it in Florida and I just had a baby, I had to make a costume for her and help Dallin with his, so that's my excuse.

Joe Dirt, Miss Mummy and Dorothy

Oh and I made Olivia this cute trick or treat bag.

Each year Dallin's office chooses a theme for Halloween, like this one. This year they all chose the theme of Mullet. Don't ask me where they came up with this, but boy was he excited. Everyone is going to wear a wig, but Dallin wouldn't have that. He insisted that I give him extensions.

At the end of the night we realized that I wasn't in a single picture so I quickly had Dallin take one of me with my girls.

We're So Glad When Grandma & Grandpa Are Here

My parents were here a few weeks ago. We love it when they are here. They were able to meet Cathrynn and give her lots of snuggles. They also will go fun places with us, entertain Olivia and despite my objections clean my house. While they were here we were able to all go to Alcatraz. Alcatraz is probably one of my favorite places to go here in the Bay area.
We also spent time just doing Olivia centered things. Her favorites right now are the "swing, slide" (what she calls the park) and swimming.
We also headed out to a pumpkin patch that had all kinds of fun things. Olivia was able to ride her very first pony. I thought for sure she would be very scared, but she walked right in with out looking back and didn't want to get off.
We always love having grandparents here. We are sad that we don't live closer!! Thanks for everything Mom and Dad! We can't wait until the Sauser's come to visit this Thanksgiving!

3 Weeks Old

It feels like Cathrynn has been here for so much longer than a mere 3 weeks, yet I still can't believe it has already been 3 WEEKS!
Cathrynn was 6 lbs 14 oz when we left the hospital and was up to 7 lbs 2 oz the next morning. However, more than a week later she had only gained 2 oz so we had to keep a close eye on her, but she has now made it up to 7 lbs 11 oz. We still can't believe how tiny she is since Olivia came out at 8 lbs 14 oz. She is a little more needy than Olivia was and likes to be held and likes to have our attention. She doesn't sleep through the night like Olivia did, but we are learning to adjust to her and love that she is her own person. Overall she is a pretty content, happy baby. The jaundice is no longer a concern and she seems to be "perfect" as the pediatrician puts it every time we go to an appointment.
Olivia has completely taken over the big sister role. She loves to get things for the baby, be mommy's big helper and is always very concerned if Cathrynn cries. She is currently potty training. She practically does everything on her own (I know I am very spoiled). She has been ready for a while now, but I kept putting it off because of all the changes that would be happening. However, we have gone 4 days now with only a few accidents over that period of time and things seems to be going pretty smoothly!

Dallin has been an amazing, patient, hands on dad, as usual. We girls love when he is home!! We are very grateful, though, that he works so hard in order for me to stay home with the girls! He also has started to ref soccer games on the weekend and seems to enjoy it.

I am still trying to adjust to less sleep and more work. I keep saying, however, besides the lack of sleep nothing seems different. I feel that we have adjusted to having two kids, instead of one, rather easily and wouldn't change it for anything (except to add a few more in the next few years). Now its on to getting back into shape, wish me luck!
